Restaurant Depot - Flagship Facility
Commercial Construction by Stuart BergerStuart Berger
Complexities are a common occurrence on the job site, but this particular project presented a series of challenges that our team had to navigate.
For one, the building's location sits on a closed landfill wedged between rail yards, the Buckner Expressway, and Long Island Sound. Given that the building houses two sister companies that can welcome upwards of several thousands of visitors each day, we knew we needed a one-stop building solution that would look good and could be completed quickly and efficiently.
The two companies required different aisle spacing, so we needed to make adjustments throughout the building's 900-foot length. The Metl-Span panels we used were designed for high thermal performance, including wall panels with a three-hour fire rating along the wall nearest the rail yard. This particular building is the owner's flagship operation, and we were honored to be tasked with helping to transform a pile of rubbish into the large, functional, and well-planned facility it is today.
